The injury bug bit Portland again, as they lost starters Rasheed Wallace and Jim Paxson, but still stayed close in a 131-122 loss to the Sacramento Kings. Oscar Robertson was spectacular, leading the Kings in points, rebounds, and assists as he racked up his fourth triple-double of the season. Mychal Thompson and Clifford Robinson led Portland's scoring off the bench.
