    The top two seeds in the Western Conference squared off as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Houston Rockets 136-113. Kobe Bryant led six Lakers in double figures with 32 points and Magic Johnson had a brilliant game with 27 points and 11 assists. Moses Malone led five Rockets in double figures as Houston falls to 7-1 in what could be the last match-up of unbeaten teams in the regular season.
