In a battle of two down and out teams, Scottie Pippen led the Bulls with 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Bulls outslogged the New York Knickerbockers 74-70. It was a match-up of two early-season favorites riding five-game losing streaks into the contest, and neither team looked sharp. Pippen, Horace Grant, and Michael Jordan combined for 47 of the Chicago's 74 points and 29 of their 48 rebounds. Patrick Ewing led a woeful Knick offense with 12 points, as the Knicks fall to 1-6 after a very impressive opening day win against Toronto.
