Doc Rivers' three-point basket capped a 10-0 run that put the Atlanta Hawks ahead 105-104 late in the fourth quarter en route to an exciting 118-115 Hawk victory over the Washington Wizards. The Hawks improve to a league-best 8-0 behind Dominique Wilkins' 25 points and 9 rebounds. John Drew scored 24 off the bench, including 16 straight Hawk points in a crucial second quarter rally. Phil Chenier was unable to get a three-point shot off at the end of regulation to tie the game, as Elvin Hayes scored 23 and Jeff Malone 22 for the Wizards, and Wes Unseld had a brilliant game as well scoring 18 with 23 rebounds.
