Dallas nearly came back from a larger deficit, pulling to within two points of the Rockets late in the fourth period, but were unable to close the deal as the Rockets improved to a league-best 7-0, winning 89-84. Houston's front court of Rudy Tomjanovich, Moses Malone, and Hakeem Olajuwon combined for 48 of the Rockets' 89 points and 43 of their 60 rebounds to lead them to victory. Dallas' comeback was fueled by Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Finley.
