Once again, the Washington Wizards could not put a team away as they squandered a fourth quarter double digit lead, as they lost their sixth straight game to the New Orleans Hornets 116-111. Larry Johnson and David West each scored 28 points and Chris Paul scored 21 and came one rebound short of a triple-double, as the Hornets won their second straight game. Again, the triumverate of Elvin Hayes, Wes Unseld, and Gus Johnson shone for Washington, combining for 63 points and 48 rebounds.
