Atlanta withstood a fierce Maverick rally late in the game to win 102-99. The Hawks took command early, led by Bob Pettit, who scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the first quarter. Pettit led three Hawks in double-figures, scoring 24 for the game, with Dominique Wilkins contributing 18. Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 33 points, as no Maverick has more than six rebounds.
