Bob Pettit was two points short of a triple-double and Dominique Wilkins pased the Hawk's scoring as Atlanta defeated Washington in a close contest 116-113. The Wizards led by 9 midway through the fourth quarter, when Wilkins and Lenny Wilkens led a furious rush, leading the Hawks to the first 4-win start this season. Four players had at least 17 points for the Wizards, including Wes Unseld, who also had 25 rebounds.
