Utah began the game with a 24-2 lead and held on to defeat the Portland Trailblazers 106-98 behind Karl Malone's 26 points and 21 rebounds. Andrei Kirilenko scored 19 as six Jazz players scored in double figures. Mychal Thompson scored 15 to lead six Blazers with at least 10 points.
