Patrick Ewing of the Knicks missed at the buzzer, as the Minnesota Timberwolves came back from a double figure fourth quarter deficit to win 88-86, despite being without their star Kevin Garnett, who fouled out with 10 minutes left in the game. Wally Szczerbiak led the Wolves with 25 points while Doug West scored 21 points, propelling the Wolves to its first win of the young season in this decidedly low scoring game. Ewing and Walt Frazier scored 18 apiece for New York, who have now lost 4 straight after an impressive opening day victory against Toronto.
Team Rebounds: NY 51-48
