Rip Hamilton's 22 points led the Detroit Pistons past the visiting Chicago Bulls in an important early season contest in Auburn Hills. Bob Lanier and Ben Wallace scored 18 apiece as the Pistons improved their record to 3-0 and put themselves 2 games above the Bulls, believed to be their only obstacle to the Midwest Division title. Scotty Pippen led the Bulls with 25 in this back and forth contest.
