Utah's Karl Malone decimated a suspect Maverick interior defense, scoring 46 points and grabbing 22 rebounds, as the Jazz fended off a late Maverick rally to defeat Dallas 120-106. Malone and Jeff Hornacek, who had 19, led six Jazz players in double figures, as Utah bounces back from a loss to Sacramento to take sole possession of the Northwest Division lead. Mark Aguirre and Dirk Nowitzki keyed a fourth quarter rally for Dallas, who fell to 2-5 with the loss.
