Richard Jefferson scored the Nets' first nine points as New Jersey jumped out to a 29-16 lead. Then Los Angeles scored 13 straight points into the second quarter to lead a rout over the New Jersey Nets 128-96. With Mike Gminski and Jason Collins lost to and Buck Williams in foul trouble throughout the game, the Nets had no interior presence late in the second half, as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar led the Lakers with 28 points. Jefferson led the Nets with 29 points.

    Team Rebounds: Tie 41-41
