The marquee match-up between Chicago's Michael Jordan and Maimi's Dwayne Wade never materialized as the Bulls overcame a halftime deficit to defeat the Heat 117-98. Fans knew this wasn't going to be as advertised by the end of the first period, when Chicago's Dave Corzine and Miami's Glenn Rice combined for 27 points, while Jordan and Wade combined for two points. The Bulls won their fourth straight game behind Jordan's 24-point 12-rebound game. Rony Seikaly led the Heat with 20 points and 19 rebounds, while Wade scored only seven points for the Heat, who fell to 4-6 with the loss.
