Detroit went on a 20-0 run in the first quarter and never looked back as the Pistons won easily over the Dallas Mavericks 109-83. Bob Lanier and Ben Wallace dominated inside, combining for 54points and 33 rebounds as the Pistons improved to 6-4 with the win. The Mavericks lost their fifth straight as they began a four-game experiment to gauge what the coaching staff perceived were team chemistry issues. They played their '80's teams and 00's teams together in alternating quarters. Dallas coach Dick Motta couldn't have been proud of his 80's teams, as they scored a combined 29 points in the first and third quarters.
